Shopping invernale

Il freddo è ormai alle porte, ed è quindi tempo di fare i grandi acquisti dell'anno, ovvero un piumino e un paio di stivali che tengano pioggia, neve e freddo fino a -25 gradi. La ricerca è lunga ed estenuante, e i prezzi proibitivi. Senonchè qualcuno dice che si possono aspettare i saldi, ovvero ibernarsi fino a gennaio. Ma c'è anche un'altra possibilità! Il 26 dicembre, giorno di Santo Stefano in Italia e chiamato Boxing Day nei paesi anglosassoni, nei quali il cittadino è chiamato in prevalenza consumatore o anche "tax payer",è stato scelto in Canada come giornata del prezzo stracciato. Già che siamo in vacanza...
Non cambia che il Québec sia francofono, questa usanza è ben radicata anche qui, me lo sono sentita consigliare più volte nelle mie varie missioni stivalesche...senonché, leggo su wikipedia:

The Boxing Day sales have the potential for customer stampedes, injuries and even fatalities.
